Privacy Policy

How Sagar Trading collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data submitted through this website.

Draft prepared 2 August 2026 · Effective date [to be set on approval]

This is a working draft, not a finalised legal document.

Every item highlighted like [this] is a fact that Sagar Trading must supply and a qualified adviser must review before this page goes live. Nothing here is legal advice.

01Who we are

This website is operated by Sagar Trading, a wholesale supplier of beverages, bottled water, canned drinks and biodegradable food containers and disposables based in Singapore.

  • Registered entity name: [Registered business name: to be supplied]
  • Unique Entity Number: [UEN: to be supplied]
  • Registered address: [Registered address: to be supplied]

In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Sagar Trading. “You” means anyone who visits this website or sends us an enquiry through it.

02What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this website. We handle personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

It does not cover data you give us through channels outside this site — for example, a purchase order emailed to a salesperson, or records held by our suppliers and delivery partners — except where that data began as a website enquiry.

03Personal data we collect

Enquiry form. When you submit the form on our contact page, we collect the fields you fill in:

  • Name (required)
  • Email address (required)
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Company name (optional)
  • Product interest (optional — pre-filled if you arrived from a product page)
  • Your message (required)

We also record the date and time the enquiry was submitted.

WhatsApp, phone and email. Because orders are placed and confirmed over WhatsApp, phone or email rather than on this website, we also hold whatever you choose to send us through those channels — typically your name, contact number, business details and order requirements. WhatsApp messages are carried by WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) under its own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control.

Technical information. Our web hosting provider, [Hosting provider: to be supplied], may automatically record standard server information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used for security and to keep the site running, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

We do not ask for and do not want NRIC numbers, bank or card details, or any sensitive personal data through this website. Please do not send them through the enquiry form.

04How we use your data

We use the personal data you give us to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and answer questions about products
  • Prepare and send you a quotation
  • Arrange, confirm and fulfil an order once it is agreed with you
  • Keep records of our dealings with you and your business
  • Comply with legal, accounting and regulatory obligations

By submitting the enquiry form you consent to us using your details for these purposes. We will not use your data for an unrelated purpose without asking you first.

05Where your enquiry is sent and stored

We want to be specific about this, because it is the part most privacy policies gloss over.

When you press send, your form fields are transmitted directly from your browser to a Google Apps Script web app that we operate. That script does two things:

  • appends your submission as a row in a private Google Sheet held in a Google account controlled by us; and
  • sends an email notification containing your submission to a mailbox monitored by our team, so we can reply.

This means Google LLC processes and stores your enquiry on our behalf as our data intermediary, on servers that may be located outside Singapore. Access to the sheet and the mailbox is limited to the Sagar Trading staff who handle enquiries. We rely on Google's contractual and security commitments to provide a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA; a full transfer assessment is [to be completed and recorded by the business].

06Your browser: enquiry list and cookies

Your enquiry list. When you add products to your enquiry list, the list is saved in your own browser using localStorage under the key sagar-trading-enquiry (older visits may still carry a sagar-trading-cart entry, which we migrate and remove). It holds only the products and quantities you selected — no name, no contact details, no payment information.

That list stays on your device. It is not sent to us automatically and we cannot read it. It only reaches us if you choose to send it, for example by starting a WhatsApp message from the site. You can delete it at any time by clearing the list on the site, or by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings.

Cookies. We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website. Some interface components may store a small preference cookie to remember how you left the layout. If we add analytics or marketing tools later, we will update this policy and seek consent where required.

07Who else may see your data

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We may disclose your data to:

  • Service providers who operate systems on our behalf, such as Google (enquiry storage and email) and our website host, under obligations of confidentiality
  • Delivery and logistics partners, where your name, delivery address and contact number are needed to complete a delivery
  • Our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed
  • Government agencies, regulators or law enforcement where we are legally required to do so

08How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as needed for the purpose they were collected for, and afterwards only where we have a legal or business reason to do so.

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an order: [retention period: to be decided]
  • Records connected to a transaction: [retention period: to be decided], subject to statutory record-keeping requirements

When data is no longer needed for any legal or business purpose, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

09Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal data against loss and unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Enquiries are submitted over an encrypted connection, and access to the enquiry sheet and mailbox is restricted to staff who need it.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send confidential information such as identification numbers or financial details through the enquiry form.

10Your rights under the PDPA

Under the PDPA you may:

  • Ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, and information about how it has been used or disclosed in the past year
  • Ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Withdraw your consent to our continued use of your personal data, with reasonable notice
  • Ask us to delete personal data we no longer need

We will respond to requests within a reasonable time. A reasonable fee may apply to an access request, and we will tell you the amount before proceeding. If you withdraw consent, we may no longer be able to quote for you or fulfil an order, and we will explain the likely consequences before acting on your request. We may need to keep some records to meet legal obligations even after you withdraw consent.

11Marketing messages and the Do Not Call Registry

We only send marketing or promotional messages where you have agreed to receive them or where the law otherwise permits, and we check Singapore's Do Not Call (DNC) Registry before sending marketing calls, texts or faxes to Singapore numbers.

You can ask us to stop sending marketing messages at any time using the contact details below, and we will act on that request without charge.

12Children

This website is aimed at businesses, not consumers, and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the effective date shown at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
